Online missionary work...catch the fire

One of the coolest parts of being a part of Sharing the Gospel in a Digital World group for the final project is actually participating in online missionary work.  I have really enjoyed using tools such as facebook, missionary mingles, hosting a fireside (Andrew gives a great recap in a recent blog post).  It has also been fun to re-kindle some old friendships and begin talking with them about the gospel as well.

As part of the fireside, Elder Seth Spencer and Elder Andrew Howden passed out a hand-out of some simple ways that we (everyone) can do to start participating in online missionary work.
Here are some of the ideas that were on the handout:
  • Make a blog/post on your blog, make a facebook update, tweet....etc.  about a church related event?
    • Spiritual experience, devotional, fireside, application of gospel principles in your own life, story of friend or family on a mission, photos of church activitiy...etc.
  • Submit a profile to mormon.org
  • Post links to mormon.org on facebook, twitter, blog...etc.
  • Look through your facebook and non-member friends and pray about who to invite to reach out to specifically.
  • Invite a friend to meet with missionaries in a missionary mingle
As I have become more actively involved in many of the suggestions above, I have found that my own personal desire to share the gospel/beliefs has increased.  Will you allow yourself to catch the same fire???

  3. I was at the fireside too! It was fantastic. Here's a Prezi I made using some of the notes they gave us and what you mentioned in your post.

  4. That's very interesting! Incredible how much I've learned from your article! Sometimes students need to get some help with their papers. For that do my paper is the best service to get help!
